Built in 1906, the District School No. 92 in Middletown Township is one of only two surviving examples still standing in Minnesota, inspired by the octagon house concept promoted by Orson Squire Fowler, Also located on the school grounds are two outhouses, one for boys and one for girls. Classes were held at District School No. 92 until 1958 when all the rural schools in Jackson County were consolidated. Once the school closed, the Middletown Township Board acquired the building and since 1958, it has been used as a place to host town meetings, elections, and other township activities.
